Just made my first batch of jam with this. After 15 years of making Jam I finally invested in this pan what a difference! I wish I'd bought one years ago! No worries about boiling over no worries about scorching and no need to Ladle just poured directly into funnel. Clean up is so much easier and less wasted JamHeavy duty. Nice pan for jam or tomatoes!I love this pan. I cooked 11 half pints of apple peeling jelly and it did not stick or burn the bottom of the pan. Made cooking the jam fool proof.I only wish it was bigger. The larger size was out of stock so I purchased the smaller one instead of waiting. It is still a great buy.Every recipe says use a heavy bottom non reactive pan. I always have. That said, this pan makes it all easier. It has a bail handle and grip for pouring. It has interior measurements and the bottom is much thicker. To top it all off, it is super easy to clean. Superbly designed.This pan is so handy! I use it for lot's of things besides small jam/jelly batches. I have both sizes but find myself using this smaller size more often. Pans are sturdy, well-made and easy to clean. I always hand wash pans but would imagine they would do well in a dishwasher.If you love to make jam this is a must have pan. I can't say enough good things about it. Works fabulously and the pour spout and handle are fabulous.So far this has been awesome. My stove is gas. It has been a trial and error trying to find the right pot for making jam. Tried the Dutch oven and it was too temperamental. Tried large Teflon pot and it would often scorch while trying to cook down. (Even with constant stirring). It was a little pricey, but I expect it to last for the rest of my life.Allows a vigorous boil of foods with sugar in them. Much less likely to burn than ordinary pots.
