I have use scan pans in the past which are excellent but their cost is exorbitant. I found this one and that’s far it has been fantastic. Much more affordable. As long as you always use plastic or rubber spatula it should last. And definitely hand wash not dishwasher.Never use Pam and you’ll have a great pan. This product is made by Scan-Pan (one of the best pans around) use olive oil if you need a little help.Burns everything. Donated it to Goodwill. Careful if you shop there.Just what I was looking for. Great pan.I’ve had this pan for several years now and it’s my go to fry pan. It cooks evenly and nothing sticks. I can put it in the dishwasher but mostly I don’t need to since it is so easy to clean. The non stick coating has lasted and shows no sign of degrading. Perfect!I had very mixed feelings about this product. Pros and cons:Pros:1) Handle stays cool even when cooking on medium-high or when also baking in the oven beneath the burners.2) Very easy to clean; simply wipe out the inside of the pan with warm water and mild dish soap.3) Feels really sturdy and well made.Cons:1) Eggs bond with non-stick surface during cooking requiring bond to be broken by a spatula. Non-stick surface is not very good.2) Pan continues to cook food even when removed from burner.3) This pans requires more oil than other similar ones when sautéing.4) Takes longer to heat up than most pans. To avoid damaging the “non-stick” surface must do water drop tests continuously. Conclusion:I felt the pan was well made and I really wanted to like it more. But I do a lot of cooking and just find the key points to a good cooking pan are lacking in this particular pan. Generally, if you buy a non-stick pan you expect the food not to bond to the surface. Also, when you remove the pan from its heat source it shouldn’t continue to cook the food for another 5 minutes. This pan is too fundamentally different than the pans I currently cook with to add it my stable of cooking gear. I really wanted to but I’m sorry I can’t recommend this pan.To the manufacturer: Use better non-stick surface. If you’re going to keep plate on bottom of pan you should add a temperature caging system that shows when the pan is at proper temperature. This is a great budget fry pan. It has a heavy steel base which makes it much more stable and avoids hotspots unlike cheap steel or aluminum pans. It's easy to clean but is also dishwasher safe if you want to do that. The price is right for the performance you get.The only reason I give it four stars is that the handle started to wobble and I had to get out a Philips screwdriver and tighten it up significantly before two weeks were out. I don't think I should have to do that with a brand new fry pan.I own a couple of other pans of this size...That made it easy as to comparing the use and quality of this one...There is no question that this pan is one that is a whole cut above your usual cheaper fry pan....The minute you pick it up and feel it will tell you that. It's much thicker and heavier overall than your average pan. The bottom of it feels like it's twice as thick as the other pans I have...The non stick surface is excellent and fine quality as well. About the only thing I feel I should mention with this is its extra thickness means it takes a little longer to heat up to top temperature for frying...I make my own breakfast here a lot and know well how long things like bacon and eggs tend to take...I have made fried eggs, bacon, and potatoes in this now and all of them took just a little longer than my other pans. Mind you I have a glass top electric stove. A gas one with a flame may act differently, but I doubt it..Once heated up it fries and cooks like any other pan. But it does take a little longer...Just the price you pay for something of a better quality is all...Just like a cast iron pan...Overall, this pan is as good as it gets as to lasting quality in a one this size, and I very much recommend it...
