We have been using the 8" that came with a complete set of the Analon at least 5 years ago, maybe a year or two longer. We used it at least once a day since. It has proved to be a very durable pan. The handle give good thermal protection from the heat generated when cooking on the stove. Buying through Amazon and this vendor was great. Much cheaper than through Macy's where we bought the original set and of course Amazon delivered to our home!I've used this for a year or so and am very pleased. At that time I also purchased an alternative product that does not compare. This design is a heavier pan, with better heat distribution resulting in much better performance and feels sturdy. The no stick finish is holding up well - I follow the recommended instructions of use.I have had the whole set for 13 years and they still look new this skillet replaced the same unit that was just starting to show signs of wearThis is really good one for the money and it performs as well as the more expensive models.Several years ago I purchased 2 of the small Anolon skillets. I used them constantly, Sometimes 3 times a day, ALL the time. They lasted forever. They would still be in use if hubby hadn't forgotten them in the oven, on the top rack, when he turned it on to high broil! Well, he has since passed on and it is now just me. I have full body arthritis and my trusty old, vintage cast iron skillets are just too much for me to handle. (I mean, they are great for some kinds of cooking!) My daughter has inherited them and loves them. (they were MY mother's, she started her marriage with them!) I have replaced them with the much easier to handle Anolon skillets. I love them. Easy for me to handle, easy to clean, and, will also wear like iron. I don't cook the way I used to but with these I can cook better, faster and much easier. In my opinion, the Anolon skillets are one of the much better brands of non-stick cookware out there. I'd recommend them to anyone.**Update**Unbelievable! I have to add this. I know I bragged about these skillets a while back, but even I am surprised at what happened yesterday. While preparing a spaghetti sauce in the midsize skillet, I put it on a med-low burner to simmer for a bit. Typical sauce, browned ground meat, onions, spices and some jarred sauce to help it along. I always add my own spices to enhance the flavor. No problemo, right? It wouldn't be if I hadn't gotten distracted.3 hours later, mind you, 3 whole HOURS later, I was on my PC taking care of business when I noticed a faint aroma/odor. I suddenly remembered my sauce and got to the kitchen. Needless to say the sauce was beyond ruined. The entire batch was burnt beyond recognition, in my perfect Anolon skillet! Hating the idea that I would most likely have to ditch the skillet (let alone some costly ground meat and sauce) I turned the burner off and checked just how destroyed everything was. Yep, stuck beyond belief to the skillet. I let it cool off a bit, then took a spatula (figuring the finish was ruined anyway) and tried to chip it out. With just a couple of nudges with the spatula I noticed a little movement with the whole batch! Optical illusion most likely. Tried again. No illusion, the entire batch moved to the side! I wish I had thought to take a picture at least, video would have been better, but I didn't. I was so glad that apparently my skillet was not ruined I actually "wahooed"! LOLJust to make sure I cooked a couple eggs in it, sunny side up, and they slid around that skillet just like the commercials show!I am so beyond thrilled with Anolon right now, couldn't wait to post this edit to my original review. If you are trying to make up your mind about these skillets, please, I am speaking the absolute truth about these and after cooking for aver 70 years I can honestly say that these are the best non-stick finishes I have ever, EVER, found. It's easy to clean and surface continued to be scratch free over timeBought this pan 3 years ago and use it daily. The non-stick is flawless and releases better than any other pan I've owned. Then, I had to be a doofus and accidentally turn the burner to high instead of off while temporarily cooking on a hotplate that had opposite knob directions to my old stove. I don't know how hot it got, but it was hot enough to cause visible scorches and permanent heat damage to the silicone spatula that was sitting in it. Since then, the non-stick just hasn't been the same. I'm ordering a new one because I have become accustomed to how wonderfully this used to perform and I know it was my fault it got messed up. Lets hope I keep this one going for longer!Probably the best, most used little sauté, fry pan I've ever had. Top quality, weight and balance. I will buy more of these Anolon Advanced Hard Anodized pans. Truly Excellent, 5 Stars all around.I spoke with the manufacter to inform them I received my two skillet and the packaging had a rough cardboard ring between the two pans and it was bound with a shrink wrap tightly. This casued the cardboard to rub and damagethe surface of the skillet. They said they would send new one. Then about 2 weeks later, I get an email fromthe Canadian office and said I would have to file a claim with them. They never answered their phones and provided a short window to refile. FELT LIKE A HUGE SCAM TO ME. I left messages but no reply. These are expensive and should be backed as promised. This is my third Anolon purchase. Two pots and now this frying pan. Quality as usual and you can use it on a glasstop stove, which is what I have. I am very happy with these products. Nothing sticks and I mean NOTHING. The instructions say do not use cooking spray and I am not going to do that. A bit of butter or olive olive oil. That's it and the food flies out of the pan. Amazing. The shipping was fast as well. Thanks!!Edit: Well, the pan looks like it was hit on one side. A small indentation but I only noticed it the other day. There is no markings so I assume it was there when made and quality control missed it. I shall keep it though..it's a good pan.Initially loved this set of pans but only after 4-5 months of everyday use of the large pan on medium-heat for cooking there came a kind of burn spot (probably from burning food on it once or twice) but even though we only soaked the pan as per the instructions, the non-stick coating has come off and its gone downhill since. So i guess the pans are good if you don't burn anything on them ever? Also cannot find anywhere to get the 'lifetime warranty' for Anolon as the Australian branch won't deal with it because it's been sold from Amazon...I have other Anolon Advanced cooking pots and pans and they do hold up well.I like that both the inside and out side are non stick which makes for easy cleaning.Anolon Accolade may be just a bit better, they have a thicker build but I would saythey will wear about the same over time, I have both. These are a good buy on Amazon.I read a ton of positive reviews chefs. These pan reviews are why I don't trust reviews any longer. both bans will not sit flat on my element and the handles are so heavy they have to be positioned just right or i prop[ a salt shaker underneath to stabilize. I hate these pans! Don't waste your money.
